- Morgan Stanley recently warned investors that the return over the next decade on a traditional 60/40 balanced portfolio (60% stocks / 40% bonds) would only be half of what it has been historically. Roughly 4.9% annually prediction is that it will fall to 2.8% annually in the 2020s. So what does that mean for someone in their 30s, or 40s vs someone in their 50s or 60s?
