INTERVIEW FROM THE PRICE OF BUSINESS SHOW, MEDIA PARTNER OF USA BUSINESS RADIO

Reports of Ebola in Congolese refugees in Texas are said to be unfounded, although there has been a significant increase in the number of migrants from Africa being stopped and apprehended at the border.

Customs and Border Patrol  (CBP) noted in a recent statement that there is no special screening for Ebola, and no special quarantine. Meanwhile there is  a report of going back to April 2019 of 20 Congolese being monitored for Ebola, but so far no reassuring news as far as the results.  What is being convey is that “no news is good news.”

As of June 16,  there  were 2,108 cases of Ebola reported in DRC, with 1,411 deaths, this according to research from the World Health Organization.

In order to get an accurate risk assessment of whether the disease is entering the U.S. from DRC by way of Mexico, it is important to know how migrants traveled. Did they come by air? By boat? Apparently, it is extremely difficult to find this information, as described by a Swiss reporter interviewed by Laura Ingraham.

It is important for Americans know more about these tens of thousands of immigrants coming into the country. There needs to be some answers to some tough questions: How did they get here? Who paid for their journey? What diseases (if any) are they bringing? What efforts are being made to evaluate them? How are our cities and states being protected against a possible contagion?

Kevin Price, Host of the Price of Business show, discussed this and more with Jane Orient, MD on a recent program.

According to the think tank, The Heartland Institute:

“Jane M. Orient, M.D., has appeared on major television and radio networks in the U.S. speaking about issues related to healthcare reform. She is executive director of the Association of American Physicians and Surgeons, a voice for patients’ and physicians’ independence since 1943. She is also president of Doctors for Disaster Preparedness and chairman of the Public Health Committee of the Pima County (Arizona) Medical Society.

“Dr. Orient is editor of AAPS News, the Doctors for Disaster Preparedness Newsletter, and Civil Defense Perspectives, and is managing editor of the Journal of American Physicians and Surgeons.

“Dr. Jane Orient has been in solo practice of general internal medicine in Tucson since 1981 and is a clinical lecturer in medicine at the University of Arizona College of Medicine. She received her undergraduate degrees in chemistry and mathematics from the University of Arizona, and her M.D. from Columbia University College of Physicians and Surgeons. After completing her internal medicine residency at Parkland Memorial Hospital and University of Arizona Affiliated Hospitals, Dr. Orient became an Instructor at the University of Arizona College of Medicine and a staff physician at the Tucson Veterans Administration Hospital.”
