Congressman Kevin Brady, (R-TX) released the following statement on the United States Supreme Court’s unanimous opinion to send the case Zubik v. Burwell back to lower courts to find a way to accommodate the Little Sisters so their religious rights would not be violated by the Affordable Care Act’scontraceptive  mandate.

“This is an overdue constitutional victory for the Little Sisters of the Poor against the ObamaCare mandate.  This country was founded on religious freedom and nothing the White House does should jeopardize that right.”

Background: The United States Supreme Court issued a unanimous opinion to send the case of Zubik v. Burwell back to the appeals court in in an effort to find modifications to the HHS mandate to eliminate any faith-based concerns “while still ensuring that the affected women receive contraceptive coverage seamlessly.”

Moreover, the Little Sisters of the Poor will not face fines for not providing contraception coverage.
