They discussed the Free Enterprise Project’s work getting companies back to neutral and away from the partisan agendas of ESG and DEI. Specifically, they discussed how the justification for DEI has shifted from focusing in redressing historical harms to improving the bottom line. However, the new justifications are just as bad as the old ones in terms of destroying shareholder value and dividing the country. Importantly, DEI doesn’t even help the people it claims to be established for, and the issues of inequality it targets are far better resolved directly.
