INTERVIEW ON THE PRICE OF BUSINESS SHOW, MEDIA PARTNER OF THIS SITE.
RecentlyKevin Price, Host of the nationally syndicated Price of Business Show, interviewed filmmaker Warren D. Robinson (image below).
Price and Robinson discuss Donald Trump’s war on Himself as seen in his failure to handle the dramatic rise of Kamala Harris.
The left leaning mainstream media is seemingly having a love affair with Presidential candidate and current vice-president Kamala Harris. From very flattering headlines to beautifully artistic magazine covers the media seems to be working overtime to paint Harris in a positive light in complete contrast to how they’ve been painting her rival former President Donald Trump. “Trump and his vice-presidential pick [Senator JD Vance of Ohio] are not doing themselves any favors in the media.” Says entertainment executive, producer and attorney Warren D. Robinson, “Whenever Trump speaks it’s meandering and full of baseless lies and insults which is red meat for the mainstream media. He makes it so easy for them to criticize him. Vance, on the campaign trail, is surprisingly a lot more effective at articulating the policy concerns of many Republican voters than I thought he would be; he just keeps getting caught up in the stupid stuff he said before he was the vice-presidential nominee.” Robinson says that Harris and her running mate, Minnesota Governor Tim Walz, are not running a perfect campaign but their issues pale in comparison to the gaffes of Trump. “He just can’t stick to a message or theme,” says Robinson, “he constantly puts his foot in his mouth and resorts to trash talking instead of policy disagreements. That worked with Hilary Clinton but it’s not working with Harris because most of it comes across as racist, sexist and frankly just non-credible. I don’t think Trump intends it to be this way but when you say things like ‘Harris is dumb’, a Black woman with a law degree (when Trump only has a bachelor’s degree) who was the first Black attorney general of the largest state economically in the country and a U.S. Senator it falls flat and comes across racist regardless of intent. I mean you may not agree with her policies or even how she comports herself but Kamala Harris is clearly not dumb.” Robinson believes it is not too late for the Trump team to turn things around but they are running out of time, “It’s now or never for team Trump to find a cohesive message and stick to that but seeing how Trump has conducted himself with his past campaigns I’m banking on never.”
According to a statement, “Entertainment executive and producer, Warren D. Robinson believes that when organizations are willing to have open and honest conversations about race and their own bias they can commit to meaningful change. We have seen this recently in the form of Hollywood award shows, particularly, the Grammys and the Academy Awards (Oscars). The Recording Academy and the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences have both taken concrete steps to diversify their ranks and address inherit biases in their voting processes. As a result we have the most diverse crop of award winners/nominees, respectively, we’ve ever seen. Contrast that with the scandal and production shutdown currently at CBS’s The Talk, which resulted because a co-host was unable to properly engage in a conversation about race, address her own bias and commit to doing better. ‘The key part to every conversation’ Warren says, ‘starts with listening. Listening and hearing are different and if you are unable to listen then you are unable to have a conversation.’
