USABR Visits with Poland’s Minister of Investment and Development on US Ties
According to the Minister:
“Poland attaches great importance to political and economic cooperation with the United States. Growing turnover rate (+10% on an yearly basis) tends to confirm that regular contacts on the governmental level with the participation of the business partners translate directly into economic benefit. That was the rationale of my official visit: to bring tangible results in enabling direct contacts between Polish and American companies which may effect in interesting business ventures.
“In Washington DC we spoke about it with American Chamber of Commerce, Senators, Members of Congress and last but not least – Trade Secretary Wilbur Ross. We tried to convince that Poland is a great place to invest in. We are one of the most resilient, best developing and leading European markets. The Polish economy is growing fast. GDP increased by 5.1% in 2018. Declining budget deficit – 0.9% of GDP, low unemployment rate – 6%. Poland will maintain a stable pace of economic growth this year. We are open for new ventures and we believe that entrepreneurs from United States will perceive Poland as a kind of economic hub for our part of Europe.
“As Polish companies have the appropriate offer of commercial, service and investment cooperation to successfully engage in different countries around the globe we’ve also decided to join Governmental Group of UN Global Compact. UN GC is the world's largest corporate sustainability initiative. It is a non-binding United Nations pact to encourage businesses worldwide to adopt sustainable and socially responsible policies, and to report on their implementation. The UN Global Compact is a principle-based framework for businesses, stating ten principles in the areas of human rights, labor, the environment and anti-corruption. That is why we are so proud than now Poland is
part of Governmental Group of UN Global Compact.”
