Reading Time: 2 minutes

Season 2 of Only Murders in the Building has arrived on Hulu! If you enjoyed the first season, you’ll want to see what’s in store for the sequel! Starring Steve Martin, Selena Gomez, and Martin Short, this thriller continues the story line from the first season. The show follows a group of friends that live in Arconia Building in New York City, who share a love of true-crime podcasts. When the group decides to start a podcast of their own, the resulting episodes will be filled with the voices of these fans.

The cast of characters in season 2 are top notch, containing the main ones from season 1 and expanding with new personalities in season 2. While Jayne Houdyshell is a familiar face from the first season, she’s a more nuanced character in Season 2. Bunny is a rich, cranky woman who loved to complain, rule, and reprimand. Only Murders does a great job of retrospectively breathing life into her dead body, and it’s fun to watch how her perception of the victim’s character completely flips after a few episodes.

As a new resident of Arconia, Amy Schumer plays a woman who wants to star in a feminist antihero podcast about the murders. She’s also determined to clear Charles and Mabel’s names (who were arrested at the end of season 1). The cast also includes Shirley MacLaine as Bunny’s grieving mother, who will have a story arc that is “exciting.” Season 2 also promises more sightings of season 1’s residents, like Jayne Houdyshell and Andrea Martin.

Only Murders in the Building’s Season 2 premiere is less than a year after its first season on Hulu. Fans can expect more mystery and a lot more laughs this time around. The show features the Arconia apartment complex (a real building with a fake name for the series) in a prominent role. Although its setting has been a key part of the series’ success, it is the building itself that has proven integral to the show’s success.

Kevin Price, Editor at Large of USA Business Radio said “anticipation for season 2 of this series began the instant season 1 ended.  Season 2 will have much to live up to.”
